Effective Money Saving Help

Do you sometimes find yourself in a financial predicament that usually ends up with too many debts? Do you live extravagantly well outside your means? Learn from these ultra basic tips on saving money, saving your pride, and saving yourself from loan sharks.

Save a portion of your income or allowance. If you are receiving a regular allowance or already earning income, split ten or twenty percent of it depending on how much you can afford to spare. Tuck away the saved portion in a money box or deposit it in a savings bank. Keep a firm resolve not to be tempted to spend the money you have stashed away.

Buy only what you need. You may declare that the charming turtleneck at Marks and Spencer would look better on you than on that pale mannequin by the window, but if you do not need it, you might as well leave it that way. Usually, money deficit stems from impulsive and irresponsible budget allocation. As repetitive as it may sound, use your money wisely! The next time you stroll along the alleys inside the drugstore, use all your will power to stop yourself from picking up and paying for that expensive mousse you do not really need.

Personalize gift ideas. It does not matter whether you enjoy them or not, birthdays and special occasions occur month after month after month. And your sweet little heart just cannot resist the urge to make your celebrator friend a happier person by buying her a gift. Instead of giving something straight from the shop, why not offer something straight from the heart? This is also the time to become creative and resourceful. Give someone a personalized gift that might be cheaper but would undoubtedly be worth more to the recipient.

Skip pricey leisure activities. You do not really need that overall body massage now, do you? Not when a warm, soothing bath at home would still do. It is not that you should give up leisure entirely. Simply substitute expensive activities with least expensive ones.

Keep track of your expenses. It is best to keep a logbook of your expenses at home and outside in a weekly or daily basis. This routine will help you analyze patterns of your expenditures and make you more proficient at budgeting your future finances. This way, you can clearly see how you are spending your money.

Ultimately, the most focal part that would put all the above tips to work is resolution. Be determined about saving money. You will find that the sacred principle to money saving is fairly simple: minimize spending. But just remember that along with this, is another simple but important rule of money management: skimp when you can but never sacrifice your diet, your comfort, and especially your pride.

Army rendition of Gaga hit storms the Internet (The Newsroom)

The Newsroom – Members of the 82nd Airborne Division posted the video last week, and it went viral, logging more than 200,000 views to date. As The Smoking Gun pronounced in presenting the video's remarkable backstory, it's almost certainly "the most entertaining music video homage ever shot in a war zone." It's a largely faithful version of the controversial "Telephone" video — with, of course, certain allowances for improvised props, since it's hard to rustle up full spandex costumes in the desert wilds of Afghanistan's Farah province. You can watch the ingenious Gaga homage below:

Red Cross and SEMA Team-up to Help Flood Victims

The American Red Cross teamed up with Saugus Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) volunteers to help out flood victims to recover from the flood that hit them a few weeks ago.
The two teams helped by distributing kits and giving flood victims cleanup assistance as well as give advice and information on how to manage flooding. The flood aid kits from Red Cross cleanup kits were packaged inside a cardboard box which included a broom, a mop, a squeegee, various sanitation supplies, salvage bags and other cleaning equipment.
Many flood-stricken homeowners from Saugus, Lynn and Revere as well went to the old firehouse at Hamilton Street to ask for assistance and receive the cleanup kits.
While the kits came from Red Cross, SEMA gave advice on how to handle flood and assistance on cleanup as well as informing people on how to make use of Federal Emergency Management Agency grants, since some flood victims may not be aware that they are eligible for it.
The team-up was a result of Red Cross contacting SEMA for a place where they can distribute the kits which SEMA was more than willing to help them with.
Steve White of SEMA said that the Red Cross contacted them looking for volunteers and a location to distribute the flood aid kits. Having done a lot of water pumping during these past storms, SEMA knew how much help the Red Cross would provide the local flood victims. White Added that they had a central location to distribute all kits, so that the Red Cross ended up supplying the kits SEMA supplied the labor and a location.
SEMA Director Paul Penachio admits that it wasn’t a complete solution but it was meant to help residents in any way they can for them to recover from the flood.
“The efforts here have been wonderful… These people are offering great services that people definitely need.” Remarked one resident who was able to receive a kit and assistance.
